Sustainability
Our school and curriculum empower pupils to be advocates and agents of change for a more sustainable world. We engage and mobilise the whole school community to achieve this.
We have achieved the Eco Schools Green Flag for many years, are part of the Let’s Go Zero Campaign, National Education Nature Park, take part in the annual Edina Trust bulb project, keep our own chickens, run Nature School afternoons for Foundation, Years 1, 2 and 3 and have recently invested in solar panels and LED lighting.

Schools Climate Conference 2.7.26
On Thursday 2nd July our Eco Warriors took part in a schools climate conference at The Beacon. They went on the stage and confidently spoke about some of the great work we do at Stanford to help the environment. They also got to go around some stands and talk to some experts on other things we could do to look after the environment for ourselves and future generations. Well done to all the Eco Warriors.

Bee Workshops 9.7.26
Some members of the Swindon Beekeepers Association came to speak to the children about the importance of bees. They gave a short talk and brought along an observation hive, which went down brilliantly. It let the children safely see inside a real colony while they explained what honeybees do, why they are so important for the environment and crops, and how they make honey.

Cake Sale 10.7.26
Our Eco Warriors ran a cake sale to raise funds to purchase some extra bins for the classrooms, to encourage composting and recycling. Many thanks to everyone who donated cakes and everyone who came and brought some cakes for a donation. Watch this space......to see what our new bin stations will look like.
