Schools receive PE and Sport Funding. This funding must be used to fund improvements to the provision of PE and Sport, for the benefit of primary aged children, in the 2024 - 2025 academic year so that they develop healthy lifestyles. We receive a total of £17,720.00.

Girls County Cricket Tournament 2.7.25
On Wednesday 2nd July our girls cricket team went to St Edward's School in Oxford to take part in the County cricket tournament. They played four games, winning two and losing two. The girls played brilliantly - great bowling, batting and fielding. They had amazing team spirit and constantly encouraged each other. Well done Lottie, Isla, Aphea, Olivia, Mary, Holly, Renesmae and Bethany.

KS1 Quad Kids 1.7.25
On Tuesday 1st July 10 children from Key Stage 1 took part in a quad kids competition on the school field. We competed against 5 other schools in long jump, vortex howler, sprint and long distance running. It was a very warm morning but all the children worked really hard in each event and showed excellent sportsmanship. We came 4th overall.
Well done Lola, Aubree, Skylar, Macy, Ella W, Jon, Liam, Louis, Jackson and Brielley.

Sports Day 27.06.25
On Friday 27th June we held our Sports Day. It was a fabulous day. In the morning, Foundation, Year One and Two raced and in the afternoon Key Stage Two raced, with a family picnic lunch in between. The children paraded onto the field and performed an opening ceremony dance before competing in various races - sprint, obstacle, egg and spoon, sack, vortex howler and more. All the children tried their best and encouraged each other. Many thanks to Mrs Warner-King for organising the day and to Year 6 for running the races during the morning. Thank you to FOSS for the medals that every child received and the ice pop, which was gratefully received on such a hot day.

County Boccia Tournament 27.06.25
On Friday 27th June our two teams that were through to the Boccia Oxfordshire Schools Final went to Marlborough school for the tournament. They all had a lovely morning and both teams were fantastic. Well done, Toby, Theo, Ronnie, Luis, you all played well and only lost one of your five games. A special well done to Dylan, Emily, Sapphire and Millie who were the tournament winners!

Cricket Tournament 17.6.25
On Tuesday 17th June we went up to Challow Cricket Club for a girls and boys cricket tournament. During the morning, Lottie, Isla, Olivia, Aphea, Mary, Holly, Bethany and Renesmae played two games against St James and Millbrook and won both of them. The girls played so well as a team and demonstrated some great bowling and batting. After the girls success they qualified for the Oxfordshire County Finals. In the afternoon, Toby, James, Evan, Benji, Robin, Sam, Frank and Dylan played three games against St James, Stockham B and Stockham C and won all three games. After winning their group, they played the winners of the other group - Stockham A. Unfortunately, they lost this game so came second in the tournament. The boys were amazing throughout - fabulous overarm bowling, great batting and fielding and amazing team spirit. A big thank you to Mr Alder for supporting the teams.

KS2 Quadkids 10.06.25
On Tuesday 10th June, some children from Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 went to Millbrook School to take part in different races / events - sprint, long distance, throwing and jumping. Ten schools took part and we came sixth overall. Well done to all the children who took part and to the staff who accompanied and cheered the children on.

Tennis Tournament 21.5.25
On Wednesday 21st May a team of Year 6 children took part in a Tennis tournament at Wantage Tennis Club. They played against a number of other schools and came 3rd overall. Well done to Lottie, Isla, JB and Toby for being a great team and representing the school so well.
Boccia Tournament 23.04.25
On Wednesday 23rd April three teams went to compete in the Boccia tournament at King Alfred’s School.
The teams included: Connor, Emily, Eleanor, Sapphire, Theo, Ronnie, Daisy, Millie, Luis, Dylan G, Ollie J and Toby. They all played incredibly well and two of the teams are through to the County Finals in June.
Well done to all the children and a big thank you to Miss McArdle for working with the children and taking them to the tournament. Good luck in the County Finals.
Football Tournament 02.04.25
On Wednesday 2nd April the school football team returned to Harwell School for the second half of the four school tournament. We played 3 x 30 minute games, we drew two and lost one. They are really coming together as a team and gave their all. We scored more goals and had a positive attitude throughout. They did themselves and the school proud. Well done Alfie, Frank, James, Harry, Owen, Aphea, Lottie, Isla, Lewis and Evan. Player of the match goes to Benji for his talking, encouragement and performance in goal.
Netball Competition 25.03.25
On Tuesday 25th March, a team of Year 6 and 5 children took part in a netball tournament at Wantage Primary School. Toby, Evan, JB, Lottie, Bella, Poppy Ed, Isla and Mollie were amazing and worked so well as a team. They played four games and only conceded one goal. They lost their first game 2-1. Drew their second game 0-0. Won their third game 2-0 and won their final game 2-0. Overall they came third in the tournament.
Netball Competition 18.03.25
A squad of 8 children took part in a netball competition. We all had to rotate to play different positions. We played with team work and encouraged each other. We had great defending and attacking skills and achieved together the more matches we played. We won our final match with one goal scored by Renesmae.

Tag Rugby 05.03.25
On Wednesday 5th March the tag rugby team took part in the Vale finals competition following their win at the partnership competition.
Everyone showed wonderful team work skills and did a fantastic job, they finished in 3rd place overall!
Football 11.01.25
The football team has their first matches at Harwell school on Tuesday 11th, they played 90 minutes of football against 3 other schools.
We saw some incredible saves and great team motivation from Benji in goal, solid defence from Isla, Alfie and Aphea. James was our top goal scorer. Lottie and Frank were fast and agile.
Player of the match goes to Lewis for an impressive performance on the pitch and showing great sportsmanship throughout.
Thank you to Mr Rhodes, the players said you were a "pretty decent ref".
Swimming 21.01.25
On Tuesday 21st January team of Y6 took part in swimming competition in Wantage.
It was amazing to watch them giving their best and also cheering each other. Y6 are a great team.
Well done to Aphea, Bella, Isla, Lottie, Evan, JB and Lewis.
Boccia 26.11.24
On Tuesday 26th November some children went to Wantage School to take part in a Boccia tournament.
The teams were made up of Millie, Eriana, Luis and Freddie from Year 3.
Ronnie, Connor, Emily, Sapphire, Daisy and Eleanor from Year 4 and Alice, Ollie, Toby, Melody and Dylan G from Year 5.
They all showed great team work and had a fun morning.
Overall we came third, fourth and ninth.
Tag Rugby 08.10.24
On Tuesday 8th October a group of year 5 and 6 took part in a tag rugby competition.
The whole team were amazing, they won every game and ended up as winners!

Inflatable Football 01.10.24
On Tuesday 1st October, the whole school had the best time with the footy kids organisation. The inflatable football was lots of fun, the children particularly liked the game called shark attack!

Today 16 children took part in cross country competition, they have been all fabulous. Well done.
