World Book Day 2025

On Thursday 6th March we all had a great World Book Day. Everyone looked fantastic dressed up as their favourite book character.

The children engaged in some fun activities, sharing their favourite books, re creating front covers and reading with other classes.

Thank you to everyone for getting involved.

 

 

Sharing Assembly

On Friday 14th February we held a sharing assembly which lots of parents and grandparents attended.

The children demonstrated some of their learning from this term.

Foundation sang the song, 'If you're happy and you know it' accompanied by glockenspiels and recited a poem.

Year 1 told and acted out 'Handa's Surprise' and then sang a song based on the story.

Year 2 read out their rhyming couplets based on 'The Owl and the Pussycat' and held up their artwork.

Year 3 explained the process they went through for their mosaic artwork this term.

Year 4 sang the song 'Bringing us together' and played recorders in the chorus.

Year 5 recited their climate pledges and sang the 3 R's song.

Year 6 read out their dragon descriptions based on 'Darwin's Dragons.'

Well done to all the children and staff for an amazing assembly. Have a lovely half term everyone.

 

 

Special Visitor

During the afternoon of Thursday 19th December we had a special visitor come and see us.

Due to us all being so good, Father Christmas made a surprise visit and brought us some lovely gifts.

 

 

 

Christmas Lunch

On Thursday 19th December we had a wonderful Christmas lunch.
Many thanks to Mrs West and Mrs Jones for preparing and cooking it.

 

 

Panto Trip

On Wednesday 18th December the whole school went to the Wyvern Theatre in Swindon to watch Cinderella.

Oh no you didn't, oh yes we did. We had a fabulous time clapping, booing, singing and dancing along.

Our favourite parts were watching the magical carriage scene and getting wet!

We also enjoyed our yummy ice creams.

 

 

Community Lunch

On Thursday 21st November we held a community lunch for some of our grandparents.

Year 3 hosted the event by initially taking our guests on a tour of the school, then serving them afternoon tea and finally entertaining them with a song. It was a lovely afternoon.

Many thanks to Ms Payne, Mrs West, Mrs Moore and Mrs Jones for helping prepare the afternoon tea.

 

 

Sharing Assembly

On Friday 25th October we held our first sharing assembly of the academic year.

The children showcased some their learning.

Foundation sang a song called 'It's my name' and accompanied it with shakers.

Year 1 recited a seasons poem and gave us facts about the different seasons.

Year 2 read poems they had written about animals and sang the continents song.

Year 3 sang a meet and greet song in French.

Year 4 demonstrated their multiplication knowledge by singing two times table songs.

Year 5 held up their pharoah death masks and told us lots of facts about Ancient Egypt.

Year 6 concluded the assembly with a range of work linked to WWII, including a poem, non chronological report facts, peace posters and artwork of the London skyline.

Thanks to the many parents who came along to see the children's learning.

 

 

 Community Lunch March 2025

 

On Thursday 20th March we held a community lunch.

Residents from the village were invited in for a tour of the school, afternoon tea and some entertainment. Year 4 did a brilliant job of hosting the afternoon.

A big thank you to Ms Payne, Mrs Moore, Ms Scrase and Mrs Jones for helping to prepare the afternoon tea. Our guests had a lovely afternoon.

 

 

 

 

 

 Sharing Assembly May 2025

On Friday 16th May we held our final sharing assembly of the academic year.

It was great to see so many parents in attendance. The children did a wonderful job at presenting some of their learning.

  • Foundation presented their dinosaur artwork, say a song about dinosaurs and named lots of them.
  • Year One gave us lots of facts about castles and the royal family, sang a song about castles and showed us their King's pants.
  • Year Two gave us lots of facts about Isambard Kingdom Brunel and the SS Great Britain and also told us about some of their own inventions.
  • Year Three spoke about Charles Fazzino and different art processes and showed us their beautiful artwork of city scenes.
  • Year Four did an amazing job of performing the poem 'Some other names for rain.'
  • Year Five performed their own playscript based on the Ancient Greece and the Minotaur.
  • Year Six read their blackout poems based on Kensuke's Kingdom.
