Pupil Leadership

As our vision clearly states, ‘Working together, Achieving together,’ therefore Stanford in the Vale CE Primary School is dedicated to fostering a culture of pupil leadership, where children are encouraged to assume important leadership roles and have their voices heard. We aim for our pupils to actively participate in enhancing the school environment, infusing purpose and significance into all school activities.

We are committed to providing opportunities for pupils to develop into confident and articulate leaders, capable of expressing their thoughts to any audience and applying their leadership skills in real-world scenarios within our school community and beyond. Our goal is to empower pupils to play a crucial role in continuously improving their school and educational journey.

The primary objective of the various pupil leadership positions is to empower pupils to take on leadership responsibilities within the school, ensuring that their perspectives are acknowledged and implemented. We actively encourage pupils to question, discuss, and deliberate on issues that are meaningful to them.

By entrusting our pupils with ownership of the school, we believe it cultivates a stronger school community and nurtures the leaders of tomorrow.

This philosophy is rooted in our Christian principles of Love, Hope and Community, demonstrating to pupils that

Working together, Achieving together.

Our Pupil Leaders are equipped to uphold this vision by:

  • Collaborating with staff to make important decisions;
  • Choosing the charities we will support as a school;
  • Helping us become more environmentally friendly;
  • Sharing opinions and suggestions to enhance teaching and learning;
  • Promoting positive behaviour and safety throughout the school; and
  • Actively seeking input from fellow pupils on significant school matters and changes.

In addition to various whole-school roles and responsibilities, pupils are also given diverse roles within the classroom. By delegating responsibilities and ownership to pupils within the classroom, we foster respect and a greater sense of independence.
